Below are a few of my favourite videos so far, featuring the EFL, non-league and the Norwegian third division! (PostNord-ligaen).
Henry Gray is a Wellington born, New Zealand International who signed for Ipswich Town a few seasons ago. I went to visit him on his impressive loan spell at League Two Harrogate Town. As I was researching for the video I found that there were more links between Wellington and Harrogate than I could’ve imagined!
It’s my favourite video to date as it has the perfect blend of everything I aim to cover. Football, Travel and Storytelling, with some poignant history too.
All it lacked was a Harrogate win… but you can’t have it all in football!
While in Oslo to watch New Zealand play an international friendly, I looked for a game outside the city. Hønefoss BK were playing at home, about 40 miles from Oslo, so I decided to head there.
You can imagine my delight when I found out that their manager was none other than Gunnar Halle! One of my favourite ever Bradford City players growing up.
I took the trip to stunning Hønefoss & got to the ground early in the hope of meeting Gunnar… You won’t believe what happened next…
Silsden AFC are my local non-league side and after a successful few years, have found themselves in the Northern Premier League East (The 8th tier of English football.) The highest ever level since the club’s formation in 1904.
It was a pleasure to be able to get insights from the manager Matt Cavanagh, chairman Will Twigg and players Tommy Brown & Danny Hunt, hearing what it takes to operate as a club at this level as well as soaking up a typical matchday atmosphere at the scenic Regal Interiors Stadium.
